Wrinkles are an unavoidable by product of the ageing process. The repeated contraction of the facial muscles, combined with other factors such as sun exposure and pollution causes facial lines and wrinkles to appear. Anti-wrinkle injections are a simple and effective way to address lines and wrinkles such as frown lines (between the eyebrows), crow’s feet (at the sides of the eyes) and worry lines (forehead).

What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Botulinum Toxin is a purified protein which can be injected into facial muscles for anti-ageing purposes. This treatment can be preventative as well as to treat existing wrinkles. It works by relaxing over-active muscles of the face. Tiny needle marks and redness at the injection sites are normal and are only visible for a few hours.

How effective are they?

Injections are administered into the muscles of the area that require treatment. This causes the muscles to relax and lines in that part of the face will become less visible or disappear altogether. The treatment takes a few days to start working and patients will see the lines begin to get fainter after approximately five days. The full effects of the treatment can take up to fourteen days and results usually last for 3-4 months. The effects of anti-wrinkle injections are temporary and therefore further future treatments are required in order to maintain the effect. Anti-wrinkle injections are painless and you will be able to carry on your normal activities directly after treatment.
